Anime songs’ “Kouhaku Utagassen” is going to be held on this new year’s eve
As I wrote on my previous page here, in Japan “Kouhaku Utagassen”(紅白歌合戦/ NHK Red AND White Singing Contest) is live broadcast on the new year’s eve every year, which is very popular. Yet this year, like the nationwide popular event,a similar event concerning Japanese popular animations’ theme songs is going to be held on the same day of this new year’s eve. That event is ” キングラン アニソン紅白 ２００９” （KINGRUN ANISON KOUHAKU ２００９） that is to take place at Tokyo Dome G-Rosso Theater and going to be live broadcast from 22:00-25:00 on December 31st 2009 on channel BS 11. http://www.anison-kouhaku.jp/
Japanese animation works or “Anime” have been one of the primary assets of our current boom of the Japanese subculture. And the animes’ theme songs(“Anime song” and ” Anison” are the expressions used as Japanese English terms) also have been very popular sometimes along with the popularity of the anime work and sometimes independently as a song or music itself . Actually 水樹奈々（Nana Mizuki）, a very popular voice actress of anime at the moment is going to participate and sing at the “original” Kouhaku Utagassen of NHK on this new year’s eve like I wrote on my previous page here. She is popular as a singer as well, yet her taking part in the Kouhaku is the very first case of a “voice actor’s participation” in the event in the whole of the long history of Kouhaku with its 60-time operations.
Similar events of anime songs have been held in the past a few times but this time’s one is to be the very first full-scale event. So, it has a special donnee of ” the new beginning ” . I think Japanese anime culture has achieved a certain stage of maturity, but we may need to turn back to review the history. That may be the reason why that donnee has been chosen… Actually some of the selected songs are quite old while some are very new reflecting the dynamic scenes and the history of anison as well as anime.
“KINGRUN Anison Kouhaku 2009” is going to have two teams of the white one and red one just like the original Kouhaku. The singer and the songs that are to perform in the show is as follows;
