CIMG0358P1000052The pounding sound echoed on the side street in Shibuya, I run into a group of people. They were making rice cakes – a classic treat during the New Year Day. They kindly allowed me to join the party. Crushing rice with a mallet was harder than I had expected, but anyhow I could quietly pound in a mortar without fail!
