Shiseido TSUBAKI

Tsubaki (椿) is Japanese for camellia, a flower. It is a common given name for Japanese women, and a Japanese surname.
TSUBAKI shampoo is a popular line of shampoo products manufactured by the Shiseido Company, Ltd.

Toho has revealed a new film by director Norihiro Koizumi. Titled “FLOWERS,” the movie stars six women seen in Shiseido’s popular TSUBAKI commercials: Yu Aoi (蒼井優), Yuko Takeuchi (竹内結子), Lena Tanaka (田中麗奈), Yukie Nakama (仲間由紀恵), Kyoka Suzuki (鈴木京香), and Ryoko Hirosue (広末涼子).

“FLOWERS,” which has been in the works since late 2008, was planned by creative director Takuya Onuki, whose works include the TSUBAKI commercials. The movie portrays six related stories, spanning three generations.

Filming started last April and continued for half a year. Theatrical release has been set for June 12, 2010. The male cast members are reportedly on a level comparable with the six beauties, though their identities will be revealed at a later date.
