Nana Mizuki(/水樹奈々) scores the first number-one hit with”PHANTOM MINDS” on the ORICON hit charts as a voice actor
Nana Mizuki(水樹奈々), one most popular voice actor in Japan at the moment scored the first number-one hit with her 21st single CD ” PHANTOM MINDS ” (released by KING RECORDS on this Jan.13th ) on the ORICON weekly chart of the single CD ranking dated Jan.25th as a voice actor in the whole 43- year-long history of ORICON hit charts. She sang “Shin Ai” (深愛, Deep Love), an opening song of an anime work ” White Album ” at the event.
This Mizuki’s latest single CD ” PHANTOM MINDS ” includes four songs, namely, “PHANTOM MINDS”, the theme song of an anime movie “Mahou Shoujo Ririkaru Nanoha The MOVIE 1st”(/魔法少女リリカルなのは The MOVIE 1st, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha The MOVIE 1st) that is to be released on coming Jan. 23rd, “Don’t be long”, an insert song of the same anime movie, “Song Communication”, an ending song of her radio program on TOKYO FM “Mizuki Nana no M no Sekai”(水樹奈々のMの世界) , and “Juujika no Spread”(/十字架のスプレッド, Spread of a Cross), the theme song of the arcade version of a video game “Shining Force Cross”(シャイニング・フォース クロス) .
The CD sold 5,4000 copies only in the first week after the release, which broke the best record as a voice actor of scoring the second with herownsong “ETERNAL BLAZE” in 2005 that also had broken the best record of having scored the third with “Northern lights” in 2002 of Megumi Hayashibara(/林原めぐみ) who had also been a popular voice actor. Thus Mizuki has broken the old best record of the single CD chart of a voice actor that had been established by herself which lasted for four years and three months.
Mizuki now says, ” I am full of cordial gratitude to all of my fans and staff who have been backing and supporting me. I will keep singing each and every song of mine with affection so as to create works worth being loved by all of you for a long, long time. ”

As a matter of fact, Mizuki had already achieved the best record as a CD of a voice actor before her latest single CD marked the top, with her seventh album CD ” ULTIMATE DIAMOND ” released last year in July 2009 that had hit the top on the ORICON album CD weekly chart and had sold 7,4000 copies in the first week.
Marking the top on the album CD chart and performing on the TV program of Kouhaku took place in the ninth year of Mizuki’s career as a voice actor and a singer. And marking the top on the single CD chart occurred in her just 10th year of the career. Therefore, in such a short intensive period coinsidentally celebrating the one decade anniversary of her career, Mizuki has accomplished three “first” and “best” remarkable records for both herself and all voice actors, which are worth attention and zealous welcome of not only anime or voice star fans and pop song fans but also of wide-range of people.

Mizuki plays the part of Jenis Quatlane who is an important character and a famed opera singer in the story. Actually, Mizuki sings as the character in the anime film as well. Yet Mizuki’s acting in the anime film was quite good, so, having seen that anime work , I feel Mizuki is an excellent voice actor,too.
