X Japan x Lollapalooza festival

Yoshiki announced that X Japan intends to play at Lollapalooza festival, scheduled for August 6-8, 2010 in Chicago.
Lollapalooza is an annual music festival featuring alternative rock, hip hop, and punk rock bands, dance and comedy performances, and craft booths. It has also provided a platform for non-profit and political groups. Lollapalooza has featured a diverse range of bands and has helped expose and popularize alternative rock groups such as Pearl Jam, Nine Inch Nails, The Smashing Pumpkins, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Hole, and Green Day.

X Japan would be the first Japanese artist to perform on Lollapalooza’s main stage. It would also be the band’s first U.S. concert, though they already have plenty of fans around the world. They had planned a world tour in 2009, but due to various circumstances, they canceled most of their shows.
