Kobukuro, L’Arc-en-Ciel and Kumi Koda x Pepsi Nex CM

A new series of commercials for Pepsi Nex featured Kobukuro, L’Arc-en-Ciel and Kumi Koda began airing.In the commercials, Kobukuro (コブクロ) plays “Layla” by Derek and the Dominos, while L’arc en Ciel jams to “I Love Rock n’ Roll.” Koda performs Cheryl Lynn’s “Got To Be Real.”Kobukuro,a Japanese band, which formed in 1998, makes their commercial debut in the CM, and member Shunsuke Kuroda (黒田俊介) described how they went through 207 takes before getting it perfect. Fellow member Kentaro Kobuchi(小渕健太郎)expressed his satisfaction with the final cut, saying, “There’s a lot of energy it in, it’s great.”
For L’Arc-en-Ciel (ラルク アン シエル),a Japanese rock band that formed in 1991, the Pepsi CM marks their first appearance in a commercial in nearly 10 years, and the band performs surrounded by giant three-meters-tall bottles of the beverage.
Kumi Koda (倖田 來未) ,born November 13, 1982,is a Japanese singer and songwriter,known for her urban and R&B songs.
In the CM, she takes a disco flashback on a 1970s-style stage, performing a pulsing, sexy dance to the iconic classic.
