HALCALI’s first original album “TOKYO GROOVE”

HALCALI (ハルカリ) will be release their first original album in three years. Titled “TOKYO GROOVE,” the album will consist of two CDs.

Halcali,a portmanteau of the names Haruka (ハルカ) and Yukari (ユカリ), is a Japanese Hip-hop duo consisting of members Halca (born April 21, 1988) and Yucali (born July 18, 1987) fromTokyo.Halcali made their American debut in May 2008 as the musical guests of honor at the Chicago-area Japanese culture, manga and anime convention Anime Central.They performed again in America at Central Park, New York City on June 1, 2008 as part of a Japan Day Festival as part of a Japanese tourism campaign.

TOKYO GROOVE” will reportedly include all of the singles and collaborative songs released by HALCALI since their last album, “Cyborg Oretachi,” in 2007.

Also, HALCALI will be hosting their first regular television variety show “Tokyo Joshi Zukan,” which starts on TBS on April 9 in the Friday 10:54pm time slot. The show focuses on currently popular women, with the first guest being professional racer and Koakuma Ageha model Mika Kagoshima (神子島みか).

TOKYO GROOVE” will be released on May 26.
