Maki Horikita
Actress Maki Horikita (堀北真希) will play a “wicked woman” in the movie adaption of “Byakuyako（白夜行）”.
Horikita,born October 6, 1988, had her acting debut in 2003 as a U-15 idol and has since starred in a number of dramas and films.
Byakuyako Movie is based on a popular novel by Keigo Higashino (東野圭吾).
The story is about a boy who kills his father to protect a girl while the girl kills her mother to protect the boy. They have to keep it a secret until the statute of limitations. Many people already used the mystery novel that sold over 1.8 million copies as basis for new productions.

Byakuyakou was previously adapted as a drama series in 2006, starring Haruka Ayase (綾瀬はるか) and Takayuki Yamada (山田孝之). The suspenseful story follows the lives of a young man and woman who cause suffering to those around them in order to cover up the mutual murders of their parents when they were younger.
Horikita will play a women who uses the misfortune of others for her own advantage.
Filming has already started, with a target release date of early spring 2011.
