“FOREVER 21” ‘s new flagship store’s grand opening in Ginza

  “Forever 21”, a worldwide popular clothing store chain of casual clothes items based in Los Angeles US opened its second store in Japan in Ginza Matsuzakaya, a famous department store nationwide in Japan on this April 29th. http://www.forever21.co.jp/   Though this is the chain’s second store in Japan, it is designed as its very first ” flagship store in Asia”.

 Ginza is the most popular, the most well-known, and the busiest shopping  area in Japan,where a gradually increasing number of  foreign tourists and residents visit and do shopping as well these days.  The area is also home to other worldwide renowned apparel chains, such as “H&M”, “ZARA “, “UNIQLO”, and “Abercronbie & Fitch”  and expected to be a  ” battlefield” of  intense competitions of  those businesses.

The first store of  Forever 21   opened in Harajyuku, a new mecca of the latest fashion trends in Tokyo  on April 29th 2009 , just one year before the grand opening of  the 「XXI at GINZA by FOREVER21」, the new one in Ginza. The first store no sooner did it open than it became very popular especially young people in their 20~30’s.  With this successful result of the first store, the company now aims at relatively older and higher-income bracket or generations as  its new target, who have been the primary class of  practicing  frequent shopping in Ginza which has been the most expensive zone in Japan. As it has been for a long time, still today , the block  in front of  ” Kyukyodo” on the  4th Street of Ginza is still the land of the highest price in whole of  the country.

On the first day of  the Grand Opening of  Ginza Forever 21, which is totally 3,070 ㎡ wide on the 1~5th floor of the department store,  various types of people, such as females in their 20’s , and  males in their 50’s,  rushed to the store and totally about 41,500 customers visited it  during  the business hours of 10:00 am to 9:00 pm.
