Kinokuniya Japanese Inn is located in a small seaside town, Kyonan in the Southern Boso Peninsula. Kyonan is surrounded by beautiful natural scenery, backed by greenery hills of the Boso Peninsula to the east and faces to Tokyo Bay to the west. You will find a cozy typical Onsen amid of residences in the seashore. The inn looks, of course, not gorgeous, but chic and elegant. Interior is also beautifully arranged which especially attracts ladies. The management theme of the inn is “providing a good atmosphere for short rest”.

New annex with only five guest rooms completed and started its business on April 25, 2009. A different design of outdoor bath with natural hot spring is equipped in each room.

If you prefer rather wider bath, there are variety of grand bathes also available in the main house. An outdoor bath named “Tsukimi-no-yu” or a moon viewing bath is on the roof top. Another outdoor bath, Mikage-no-yu, or a granite bath, is in the first floor. Two inner bathes named Ichi-noyu, and Nino-yu, are also in the first floor. Its dark brown Onsen water is gushing out from 600 meters under the grand that was dug up in 1987.

As a member of bidders in local fish market, fresh seafood is always available in their kitchen. Local farmers also send a variety of seasonal vegetables from nearby field everyday. The chef can create original style of the finest Japanese cuisine with these abundant natural products. You can enjoy tasty dinner and breakfast in your room.

Special amenity for ladies only, Yukata cotton kimonos in various colors and sizes are always prepared as sleeping wear, so all lady guests have privilege to choose most suitable one among them.
Nearby sightseeing spots: Great Stone Image of Buddha, Jigoku-nozoki Observatory, and Great Stome Image of Kannon.
Among many nearby sightseeing spots in the Old Nokogiriyama Quarry, Nihonji Temple or the oldest Buddhist temple in the Kanto District, the Jigoku-nozoki observatory on the precipice top, the Great Stone Image of Buddha, the 1,500 Stone Buddhist Images, and the Great Stone Image of Kannon are must-see places. Moronobu Hishikawa Memorial Center for one of the famous Japanese painter during the Edo Period is also accessible from the inn. Hishikawa Moronobu (菱川師宣1618 – 1694) was a Japanese painter and Printmaker known for his advancement of the “Ukiyo-e”, or woodblock printing starting in the 1670s.
