My parents-in-law and my family spent the last weekend at Hananoyado Matsuya in Kinugawa, Tochigi.

I couldn’t think of any more relaxing time! The open-air bath surrounded by mountains, great Japanese meal, such as sweetfish and Yuba (tofu skin), both of which are one of Tochigi specialties, etc.

Besides, there are some other points why all of our familes fell in love with this Japanese inn;

(1)   So many beautiful drawings by Yumeji Takehisa on the wall! It’s like a museum.

(2)   Seasonal flowers (around 300 vases) all around the inn! You can appreciate the Japanese season.

(3)   An amazing garden leading to the riverbank of the Kinugawa. *No other inn in Kinugawa has access to the riverbank!  Kids love splashing water, don’t they?

Why don’t you choose Kinugawa for your next trip?  The landlady of Hananoyado Matsuya said they’d always welcome the guests from all around the world!
