‘Kizuna’ beauty parlor in Ofunato city
Seven beauticians in Ofunato and Rikuzen-takata cities who lost their beauty parlors at the tsunami opened a temporary shop jointly at a corner of 2nd floor in ‘Ocean View Hotel Marumori’ in Ofunato on June 6. The parlor is named ‘Kizuna’ after bonds of people. ‘I was really looking forward to start working again. Other beauticians are also very positive so that we stimulate each other while working together here and try eager to restart own parlors.’ Ms. Akiko Hirasaka (36), the manager of ‘Kizuna’, had just started her beautify parlor ‘Hair Salon Largo’ in Rikuzen-takata city in April 2010. Opening of the temporary beautify parlor was backed by ‘Organization for Supporting Beauticians’ Reconstruction from the East Japan Great Earthquake and Tsunami in Iwate’ (represented by Mr. Toshisato Kwai). Professional equipments and tools for beauticians, such as combs and scissors, are collected from all over Japan and given to beauticians through the organization. The organization is trying to open temporary beauty parlors in other areas in Iwate for supporting victim beauticians. ‘Kizuna’ beauty parlor in Ofunato is their first step.
