Brand Chicken ‘Nambu-dori’ will be on the market soon

Amatake Co. completed reconstruction of its production line in Ofunato city
One of the largest chicken production and Sales Corporation in Ofunato city has finished reconstruction of its production line and held the reopening ceremony on July 1. Amatake Co. Ltd. is expecting to restart its production line and ship their chicken products from the end of July. About 300 people, including employees, attended the ceremony.
‘Our target was not just a restoration, but was to start again from scratch. We have to produce much better products than before, and must try our best for reconstruction of our city Ofunato and for Iwate Prefectur as well. Mr. Amatake, the president of the brand chicken company gave an address at the ceremony.

According to the information from Amatake, two processing plants in Rikuzen-takata city were discontinued and all production and processing lines are put together in their main plant in Ofunato city.
Daily output of ‘Nambu-dori’ or the Amatake brand chicken is about 8,000. And they produced over 8 million chickens last year. Now they are expecting to ship forward about 60 percent of last year. Amatake co. is also starting new cosmetics business based on collagen from their chickens and try increasing its profit.
10 employees lost their lives at the tsunami and the amount of damage was over 4,000 million yen.
