A camping village at Goishi seashore opened

Children from Massaki Elementary School camped out over night
An opening ceremony of youth camping village at Goishi Seashore, Massaki town was performed on July 14. 30 of participants prayed for safety of campers and also recovery of sightseeing industry. Fortunately, the camping village is located near the rest house and left unhurt from the tsunami.
‘It is no exaggeration to say that we have no arriving tourist to Ofunato now. We are greatly depended on the camping village here expecting for earlier recovery of our industry.’ Mr. Toshiaki Saito, the chairman, the association of sightseeing and products of Ofunato city, gave an address at the opening ceremony.
The first campers were 31 of 5th grade students from the Massaki Elementary School. The camping activity of the elementary school had taken place at the field activity center on Takada-matsubara seashore, but this year they are forced to change the camping site, because where was greatly damaged by the tsunami. Children tried to cook curry and rice awkwardly for their own dinner. They were looked busy cutting vegetables and heat it at a cooking stove. Children camped out over night after visiting the municipal museum and participating to the walking rally in the Goishi Seashore.
‘We are very happy now, because we had no school events during the first term.’ Two of female students, Momoko Hrano and Mai Kuramoto were beaming with joy. On the other side, two male students were looked expecting differently. ‘We really like to enjoy campfire at night!’
