Nadeshiko Japan WON the World Cup in Germany
“Nadeshiko Japan”, the national team of femal soccer, won the FIFA Women’s World Cup Germany 2011 held in Frankfurt am Main won the final defeating US team with 3-1 in the penalty shootout in the extended game after 2-2 on Jul.17th. http://www.fifa.com/womensworldcup/index.html
This is Japan’s first Gold medal winning victory at the Women’s World Cup and The first Asian champion country in its history.
Japan’s team had been defeated by US 24times before it has finally overcome US. Some say it is a “miracle”. Now, Japan is enjoying and celebrating the historic victory and the feat of the team nationwide. PM Kan invited the manager and team members to the Prime Minister’ s official residence on 19th and said, “Thank you very much for giving a huge energy to all of the Japanese and the people in the damaged areas.”.
And the team visited the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building to make the official report of the victory to Ishihara Tokyo Governor on the 20th.
Ishihara blessed Nadeshikos’ great victory and other governmental bodies should have hosted a big parade for them on the Ginza street.
The Japanese government officials and some official members of the ruling party DPJ say they ought to confer the People’s Honer Award to the team though some changes of the rule will be necessary, if they would do so to a group or organization.
Actually some Tokyoite members are going to be presented Tokyo People’s Honer Award and special bonuses and contributions will be given to them.
