‘Koishihama’ in Ohfunato City after the disaster will be depicted on a popular comic story

‘Gogai! Iwate Chagu-Cahgu Shinbunsha’ by Asuka Aruto
Scenes of Ohfunato city after the disaster will be depicted in the popular cartoon ‘Gogai! Iwate Chagu-Chagu Shinbunsha’. The cartoon is drawn by Asuka Aruto, a cartoonist living in Ichinoseki City, Iwate. The comic story will be carried out on the ’BE・LOVE’ (by Kodansha) as a complete short story. The heroine of a comic story is a fictitious reporter from a local paper in Iwate Prefecture.
In the story, the reporter covers the story at Koishihama Community in Sanriku Town where is well known for its famous brand ‘Koishihama-scallops’. She collects information from the tsunami victim fisherman and his family. Mr. Atsushi Sasaki (40), a representative of the youth section from Koishihama Branch in the Ryori Fishermen’s Association, will present a real experience of the tsunami in the story. ‘Gogai! Iwate Chagu-chagu Shinbunsha’ was first carried on the comic magazine for young ladies ‘BE・LOVE’ in 2009 as a complete short story. It was a story about a female news reporter from local news ‘Iwate Chagu-chagu Shinbunsha’, Ms. Sakiru Bando who was transferred from the head office to a local branch in the southern Iwate. She could find a various attractions while covers local events
Five stories, such as in Thono City and Hiraizumi, were carried on her book of an independent volume. It was published on May 13, 2010 and reprinted soon after on sale.
