Director Stu Levy announced that his documentary film Pray For Japan will feature a newly produced opening anime sequence. The film chronicles the aftermath of the Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami that devastated much of the country’s northeast coast on March 11, 2011.

A feature-length documentary, the film focuses on the rescue and clean-up operations following the disaster, as well as humanitarian efforts by volunteers. The film also interviews survivors of the disaster about their lives since the incident took place.

Pray for Japan will have its world premiere on March 6 in Japan at the Cinem@rt Shinjuku, Tokyo. AMC Theaters will screen the documentary in 17 North American cities on March 14 at 7:00 p.m. local time, with proceeds benefiting the Japan Emergency NGO (JEN).
