Satoshi Tsumabuki& Emi Takei’s live-action ‘Ai to Makoto’ trailer posted
The Cinema Today website began streaming a 101-second full trailer for the live-action film adaptation of Ikki Kajiwara’s Ai to Makoto (愛と誠) romance manga. Prolific director Takashi Miike (三池崇史).

Emi Takei (武井咲)plays an angelic high school girl named Ai Saotome, and Satoshi Tsumabuki (妻夫木聡) plays the “ultra” high school delinquent Makoto Taiga in the love story.

Ikkii Kajiwara (梶原一騎) wrote the original manga with illustrations by Takumi Nagayasu (ながやす巧) for Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine from 1973 to 1976.
Takeshi Kobayashi (小林武史) composed the soundtrack. You Hitoto (一青窈)performed the opening theme song “Ai to Makoto no Fantasia”, and Kariyushi58 (かりゆし58) performed the ending theme “Waratetekure yo”; both songs can be heard in the trailer.

36 years after its last live-action adaptation, Ai to Makoto will open in theaters across Japan on June 16. The Ai to Makoto romance manga inspired a live-action television adaptation in 1974 as well as three live-action films in 1974, 1975 and 1976.
As far as look at the trailer, the new “Ai to Makoto” is remade as lighthearted romantic comedy.
