New Dragon Quest promo video streamed
The game publisher Square Enix said it will launch a new title in its popular ”Dragon Quest” series in Japan on Aug. 2. , and began streaming a promotional video.
”Dragon Quest 10 — Mezameshi Itsutsu no Shuzoku (目覚めし五つの種族/five awakened tribes) Online” for Nintendo’s Wii home game console will be the first version of the series allowing Wii users to play with others online by paying fees.
The Wii or Wii U console that players use will need an Internet connection, though the first few hours of the game can be played offline.
Square Enix confirmed that a player can go through the basic gameplay solo. A player can create up to three characters, but each console can only handle one character and one player at a time. Beta testing for Japanese residents with Internet-connected Wiis and Square Enix accounts began in November.
The title’s suggested retail price is 6,980 yen. Online players will have to pay 1,000 yen for 30 days, 1,950 yen for 60 days or 2,900 yen for 90 days.
