My students in Harajuku
My students of Vantan Design Institute had a field trip to Harajuku today.
Harajuku is an area between Shinjuku and Shibuya. Local landmarks include Meiji Shrine, Yoyogi Park, and NHK. Various clothing stores found on the east side of Takeshita-dori and north side of Omotesando. Unlike Shibuya or Shinjuku, small stores instead of large-sized ones are gathered in this area. Harajuku as a whole has a more relaxed atmosphere.Cool stores hidden in tiny alleys. There are many stores and beauty salons offering their original items only found there selected through their own unique points of view. Takeshita-dori stretches for 400 meters from JR Harajuku Station to Meiji-dori, a main street. Crammed along both sides are numerous boutiques, used clothing stores, knick-knack shops, a big 100-yen shop, and cafes. Some shops sell their own original goods. Harjuku is also a popular dating spot.! |
