The 54th Japan Record Award- AKB48 won for the second consecutive year

The 54th Japan Record Award ceremony was held at the New National Theater in Tokyo on Dec.30th and  AKB48 received the Japan Record Award for the second consecutive year with “Manatsu no Sounds Good ” as the first female group in its history to win two years or more in a row and the sixth performer as well.(http://www.tbs.co.jp/recordaward/)

 

The winning song is a virtually the last song of the group with the “absolute ace”, Atsuko Maeda who graduated from the group this August, which marked the best selling single record of this year. One of the new aces, Yuko Oshima   made a speech for the winning saying, “Thanks to this victory, we have made a good mark at the new start of the second chapter of  AKB48’s history. We will make brand-new AKB and please support us.” with a happy smile.

The Best New Artist Award was given to Reo Ieiri, Good Song Awards were given to;ありがとう」JUJU 「風が吹いている」いきものがかり 「GO FOR IT!!」西野カナ 「櫻」氷川きよし 「酒のやど」香西かおり 「777 ~We can sing a song!~」AAA 「花火」三代目 J Soul Brothers 「White Angel」Fairies 「真夏のSounds good!」AKB48 「やさしくなりたい」斉藤和義

And other awards went to about 40 performers, lyricists, or composers. In addition,  some great singers and musicians who had recently passed away received the Special Contribution Awards.
