Tokyo Game Show 2016

Tokyo Game Show 2016 was held Sep.15-18 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba. (http://expo.nikkeibp.co.jp/tgs/2016/)

At this TGS 2016, the number of the paticipant businesses made the record high of 617 and the event was full of lively energy and passion of the new games and visitors. And, there held the special live concert of “PSN meets Secret Artist” ,at which  EGOIST, a popular “fictitious singer” from  an anime work, sang songs.

Visit Japan Asia Travel Mart 2015 is being held Jun.12-21(familizarization trips on Jun.12-21, business negotiation events on Jun.16 and 17, and work shops on Jun. 16) at Makuhari Messe in Chiba City Chiba pref. This big event of inbound tourism always becomes so popular and visited by a lot of  foreign buyers, travel agents, and local suppliers, sellers,such as municipalities, bus companies, hotels, guide associations, and so forth.  This time 250 buyers are officially invited to the event from 11 countries of China,Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore,Malaysia,Indonesia, Vietnam, The Philippines, and India. The host, Japan Tourism Agency and JNTO expect to have more  visitors and energetic promotions and negotiations to take place which are to trigger more momentum in that industry.

TOKYO GAME SHOW 2013 held

This time 352 organizations from 33 countries or regions,which is the highest number in the history of this event joined the show. A lot of  new video games, mobile phone games, PCgames and new game hardware. SCE(Sony Computer Entertainment )  released information and demonstrated  PS4 which is planned to be pre-released in US this November.

 

“TGS 2012” marked its record high of the number of visitors

“Tokyo Game Show 2012″(TGS 2012) was held Sep.20-23 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba City.http://tgs.cesa.or.jp/index.html

This time the show marked its record high of the number of visitors with 223,753. This year the event was the 22nd and gradually it has received increasing number of visitors every time. Every time  new  video games are introduced or demonstrated at TGS and this time, new popular game soft wares such as,”Monster Hunter4″,   “Ark Sphere” and others. The number of the companies joining the event was also a record high with 209 and the number of the games was a record high with 1043. 

70% of the game titles introduced at TDS 2012 were so-called “social games”,which implies a game played by multi players through their mutual communications via such as smartphones or tablet computers.  There were also some stage performances of such as cos-play.  young female staff clad in colorful attires of video-game- world- like manner served the visitors.

Huge outlet park opened near Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line Kisarazu Interchange

Mitsui Outlet Park Kisarazu opened April 13th near the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line Kisarazu-Kaneda Interchange in Kisarazu, Chiba Prefecture.

There are currently 171 shops and the outlet park is expected to expand to between 200 and 250 to become the largest outlet mall in the country. Read the rest of this entry »

Necomimi moving cat ears to be sold in Japan

The Japanese project Neurowear announced that it will begin selling the consumer version of its Necomimi (a stylized romanization of the Japanese term for “cat ears”) headbands at the Nico Nico Choukaigi event, which will be held in Chiba Prefecture’s Makuhari Messe event center on April 28 and 29.

Coming-of-Age Day ceremonies :Tokyo Disneyland&AKB48

New adults attended ceremonies and festive events across Japan on Monday to mark Coming-of-Age Day.

One of the most popular spots was Tokyo Disneyland in Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture, which drew more than 1,200 new adults on Monday. Young Japanese women danced with Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and Pluto and other Disney characters on a stage.

No less than 15 members of idol group AKB48 and four members of the sister group SKE48 also celebrated their coming of age. Atsuko Maeda, Tomomi Itano, Minami Takahashi, and other members of the groups went to Kanda Myojin, the honorary shrine for the nearby Akihabara (Akiba) district, mark the occasion with a ceremony. Tokyo Disney Sea celebrating its 10th anniversary

 Tokyo Disney Sea celebrated its 10th anniversary on this Sep.4th.http://www.tokyodisneyresort.co.jp/en/tds/index.html 

There had been about 13,000 visitors standing in line before the Sea was open, and all of them were welcomed by about 1oo staffers clad in special costumes. Then the special memorial ceremony was hosted by the management and chairperson of the operating company of  Tokyo Disney Resort ,Oriental Land Co.,Ltd., Toshio Kagami gave a speech saying, “We would like to make smiles using our Disney’s magic  in order to make Japan in the bright future, overcoming the damages of  the earthquake disaster”, and no sooner did president Kyohichiro Uenishi show up with Mickey Mouse and Minny Mouse shouting the declaration of “Be magical !”  than  the Prometheus Volcano  in the central area suddenly erupted, which was  followed by a lot of applause.

The memorial event called “Be Magical!”  is being held in the Mediterranean Sea area with  flashy dance performances.

The memorial events will be hosted twice a day in principle except for special periods such as the Christmas week  until March 19th 2012.

In fron of Aquasphere in Disney Sea Plaza, now there are special memorial “Magical Hat” monuments having the shape of  giant sorcerer’s hats.

Tokyo Disney Resort  underwent a sharp decrease in the gross sum of the revenue since the earthquakeand tsunami disaster in March, however, the revenue and the number of visitors both have been increasing since this July, which clearly shows the recovery from the financial damages  caused by the disaster slowly but steadily.

X Japan pay tribute to deceased former members at Summer Sonic

Japanese rock band X Japan made an appearance at the Summer Sonic in Chiba on Sunday. The performance was their first in Chiba since their debut tour in 1989.

The group performed tribute songs to two former members who have passed away―Hide who committed suicide in 1998, and Taiji Sawada who died in in a Saipan hospital in July after trying to hang himself. He had been arrested for unruly behavior on a flight to the Mariana Islands. The attempt left him brain dead and his family eventually decided to turn off life support.

Lead singer Yoshiki moved audiences by announcing, “Hide and Taiji are playing with us right here. You see five on stage, but we are seven.”

Chiba is hometown of Yoshiki and Toshi.
