Jun Matsumoto & Masami Nagsawa X “Wagaya no Rekishi”
It was announced that actor Jun Matsumoto(松本潤) and actress Masami Nagsawa(長澤まさみ) are going to have a kiss scene in the drama.
“Wagaya no Rekishi” is a lavish Fuji TV special to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

Tomohisa Yamashita X Ashita no Joe
The live-action film adaptation of “Ashita no Joe” will open early 2011.
“Ashita no Joe”(あしたのジョー/lit.Tomorrow’s Joe) is a critically acclaimed boxing manga created by Asao Takamori and Tetsuya Chiba in 1968-1973.The manga is among the most critically acclaimed stories in Japanese popular culture.

Aya Ueto becomes a detective for new drama “Zettai Reido-Mikaiketsu Jiken Tokumei Sousa”
Actress Aya Ueto (上戸彩) is going to star in her first detective role for Fuji TV’s “Zettai Reido: Mikaiketsu Jiken Tokumei Sousa” (lit: Absolute Zero).
Similar to the American series “Cold Case”, it will have a team trying to solve or resolve cases that happened a long time ago. Japan actually just created a special department for cold cases in November 2009.
Miori Takimoto X NHK asadora “Teppan”
An asadora (朝ドラ)is NHK’s morning drama series. Asadora air Monday through Saturday at 8:15am, and runs for 15 minutes without commercials. To break it down, asa (朝) means “morning”, while dora (ドラ) is an English loanword meaning “drama”.
The 83rd asadkra series, “Teppan (てっぱん),” has an official heroine.
NHK announced that 18-year-old Miori Takimoto (瀧本美織) was chosen for the lead role from an audition of more than 1,400 actresses.

Rosa Kato and Nana Katase co-star in drama “Pro Golfer Hana”
A golf-themed drama series titled “Pro Golfer Hana (プロゴルファー花)” will broadcast on NTV this spring.
Co-stars Rosa Kato (加藤ローサ) and Nana Katase (片瀬 那奈) have been earnestly preparing for their parts through lessons from professional golf teachers.

Eita and Juri Ueno’s Twitter drama “Sunao ni Narenakute”
Eita (瑛太) and Juri Ueno (上野樹里)’s spring drama is based on Twitter.
New drama on Fuji TV will be called “Sunao ni Narenakute (素直になれなくて/lit. Hard To Say I’m Sorry)”, the same title of a ballad performed by American rock group Chicago.

Yusuke Yamamoto stars in drama “Tumbling”
TBS‘s new drama explore the men’s rhythmic gymnastics with a series titled “Tumbling.”
Rhythmic gymnastics is a sport that combines elements of ballet, gymnastics, dance, and apparatus manipulation.
The drama features a cast of popular young actors, led by Yusuke Yamamoto (山本裕典) in his first lead role in a series.

Daimajin Kanon X Yuka Rikuna
The special effects drama “Daimajin” that was hugely popular back in 1966 will make its revival as a TV series on TV Tokyo.
The late-night dorma “Daimajin Kanon (大魔神カノン)” had 1 bil.yen for its creation, huge budget for a drama of that time slot.
Heroine of the new series will be the female college student Yuka Rikuna (里久鳴祐果),21, who got selected among 1000 young women auditioned for that role.

Juri Ueno X 2011 taiga drama “Gou ~Himetachi no Sengoku~”
