Madame Tussauds Tokyo

The “Madam Tussauds Tokyo” exhibition at Decks Tokyo Beach commercial complex in the Odaiba waterfront area comprises around 20 waxworks that can be touched freely.

The waxworks on display include those of Audrey Hepburn, Michael Jackson and Johnny Depp, as well as Japanese figures such as musician Ryuichi Sakamoto, violinist Taro Hakase, animation character Astro Boy and Yuko Oshima from pop idol group AKB48.

From 15 to 20 artisans are involved in carving, casting, coloring and grafting hair by hand and it takes about four months to complete a single figure.

With the backdrop of the illuminated Rainbow Bridge and Tokyo skyline, the image of a giant white shark is captured during the Odaiba water illumination show.

The show is projected on to a huge water screen, 15 metres high 40 metres across, created by a fountain set along a beach at the Odaiba Kaihin Park.

Odaiba water illumination is performed four times after 18:30. Among the many images screened are frolicking dolphins, tropical fish, a whale and the famous maoi figures from Easter Island in the south-eastern Pacific Ocean.

It is the show of biggest ZAKKA in Japan.

2200-company 300000 items gather here.

There are most ZAKKA of Japan.

I went 48 consecutive times.

About me, talking with acquaintances is main rather than it sees goods.

Comiket 77 at Tokyo Big Site

Comiket(コミケット)77 starts at the Tokyo Big Sight in Tokyo from 29 Dec and ends on the 31 Dec 2009.

Comiket , or the Comic Market (コミックマーケット), is a handmade comic book fair, held twice a year in Tokyo. It started in 1975, features self-published magazines, manga, novels, games and music. As items sold in Comiket are considered very rare, some items sold at Comiket can be found in shops or on the Internet at prices up to 10 times the item’s original price.

Odaiba Water Illumination

Odaiba Water Illumination began on Dec.21.
The show is a 15-minute slideshow depicting the birth of the Earth projected on to a fan-shaped fountain on a beach in Tokyo Bay.
Different images are projected on a huge 15m high and 40m wide screen, formed by the water spray accompanied with music.
The show will run until Jan.11, 2010.

Odaiba is a large artificial island in Tokyo Bay, across the Rainbow Bridge from central Tokyo. It was initially built for defensive purposes in the 1850s, dramatically expanded during the late 20th century as a seaport district, and has developed since the 1990s as a major commercial, residential and leisure area.
