First One Piece art exhibition with new artwork by Oda will open

One Piece manga creator Eiichiro Oda (尾田栄一郎)will be the executive producer for the next One Piece film. Viz Media also announced that the film will open in Japan next December, and the first One Piece art exhibition ― with new artwork by Oda ― will open in Tokyo’s Roppongi Hills on March 20, 2012.

Located on 52F just below the Mori Art Museum and Tokyo City View observation deck with its panoramic views of Tokyo, Mori Arts Center Gallery is a 1,000㎡-class gallery.

Gundam creator Yoshiyuki Tomino X Astronomy Event

Gundam creator Yoshiyuki Tomino (富野由悠季) and Gundam UC author Harutoshi Fukui(福井晴敏) will speak at Intro to Gundam Astronomy Event.
Jun Fukue (福江純) — an astronomy professor, author, and science-fiction anime enthusiast — will also attend the event.

The speakers will discuss space exploration and mankind’s knowledge of the universe, using the story world of the Gundam science-fiction anime to illustrate points.

For example, they will highlight the concepts, structure, and feasibility of cylindrical space colonies, which are known collectively as Sides 1 through 7 in Gundam.

The combined seminar and skygazing gathering will be held at the Tokyo City View Sky Deck in the Roppongi Hills 270 meters above sea level on March 9.
