By Nolita - Last updated: 水曜日, 1月 13, 2010

CIMG0358P1000052The pounding sound echoed on the side street in Shibuya, I run into a group of people. They were making rice cakes – a classic treat during the New Year Day. They kindly allowed me to join the party. Crushing rice with a mallet was harder than I had expected, but anyhow I could quietly pound in a mortar without fail!

Spritual Spot in the Meiji Jingu

By Nolita - Last updated: 火曜日, 1月 12, 2010

CIMG0370
During the New Year Day, 3.2million people including famous Kanda Uno and Oshikiri Moe, visited the Meiji Jingu Shrine. The hidden popular attraction is “Kiyomasa’s Well”, which is believed to be a “power spot”. After Manabe Kaori mentioned the spot, people started forming a long line on the path to the spiritual well. So if you wish to gain the power, please wake up early in the morning. The gate opens at sunrise. (PS The photo is the New Year’s Ornament at the Meiji Shrine. This is the coolest decoration I have ever seen. )

Yanaka

By Nolita - Last updated: 日曜日, 12月 27, 2009

Yanaka is an old neighborhood near Ueno. When you step into Yanaka Ginza, you will find yourself walking in the retro town. The nearest station is Nippori where JR Yamanote train and Keisei Skyliner stop. CIMG0250It is a good idea to stopover when you are on the way to Narita Airport.

Taking a Naruto-like lesson at Vanessa’s Ninja Academy

Ninja is far more than I have expected. Ninja is not only physically and mentally well trained humans but develop their inner energy by practice. So the whole universe would embrace them. Today I learned that Urban Ninja Murasame had a micro-universe inside. He can be invisible in a moment and pass through people without making his presence felt.
