Tetsuya Takeda’s Kinpachi-sensei to retire with special drama in March
The popular drama series “3 Nen B Gumi Kinpachi Sensei” will come to a conclusion this March with a final special episode. The show, which stars Tetsuya Takeda (武田鉄矢),61, as a junior high school teacher, has had a total of 8 seasons since 1979, with the last one in 2007-2008. This finale will be the drama’s 12th special episode.
Takeda is a Japanese folk singer and actor. He perhaps most known in Japan for his starring role in “3 Nen B Gumi Kinpachi Sensei” long-running, highly-rated drama.The program, targeted at junior high and high school aged adolescents. Over the show’s 8 seasons, Takeda’s character “Kinpachi-sensei” has guided approximately 240 students to graduation. In several cases, the show helped launch the careers of the young stars playing his students, including Kaori Sugita, Kazuya Kamenashi, and Aya Ueto.
Takeda alos wrote and performed several well-known songs, including the theme song for the 1985 animated movie Doraemon: Nobita’s Little Star Wars (のび太の宇宙小戦争). Takeda’s 1980 song Okuru Kotoba (The Word I Give to You) is often sung or performed at junior high school and high school graduation ceremonies in Japan.
The upcoming episode, tentatively titled “3 Nen B Gumi Kinpachi Sensei Final,” will deal with Kinpachi-sensei’s retirement. Filming starts next week, though the student cast has not yet been reported. TBS plans to broadcast the special at the end of March.

Miori Takimoto X NHK asadora “Teppan”
An asadora (朝ドラ)is NHK’s morning drama series. Asadora air Monday through Saturday at 8:15am, and runs for 15 minutes without commercials. To break it down, asa (朝) means “morning”, while dora (ドラ) is an English loanword meaning “drama”.
The 83rd asadkra series, “Teppan (てっぱん),” has an official heroine.
NHK announced that 18-year-old Miori Takimoto (瀧本美織) was chosen for the lead role from an audition of more than 1,400 actresses.

Rosa Kato and Nana Katase co-star in drama “Pro Golfer Hana”
A golf-themed drama series titled “Pro Golfer Hana (プロゴルファー花)” will broadcast on NTV this spring.
Co-stars Rosa Kato (加藤ローサ) and Nana Katase (片瀬 那奈) have been earnestly preparing for their parts through lessons from professional golf teachers.

Eita and Juri Ueno’s Twitter drama “Sunao ni Narenakute”
Eita (瑛太) and Juri Ueno (上野樹里)’s spring drama is based on Twitter.
New drama on Fuji TV will be called “Sunao ni Narenakute (素直になれなくて/lit. Hard To Say I’m Sorry)”, the same title of a ballad performed by American rock group Chicago.

Juri Ueno X 2011 taiga drama “Gou ~Himetachi no Sengoku~”

Second season for Haruma Miura’s “Bloody Monday”
A second season for the TBS drama series “Bloody Monday (ブラッディ・マンデイ)” has been officially confirmed. Based on manga series written by Ryuumon Ryou and illustrated by Megumi Kouji(恵広史),the original drama aired last fall and averaged 11.4% ratings.
