Ryutaro of PLASTIC TREE halts band activities due to serious disease complications
Rock band Plastic Tree’s vocal Ryutaro has been diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome.
They were also supposed to do two year-end lives, one on December 28 and one on the 29 at JCB HALL in Tokyo.
Plastic Tree has just released their new single, “Mirai Iro“, on December 15, and the track even made it into Oricon hit chart top 10.
Guillain–Barre syndrome (GBS) is an acute inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (AIDP), a disorder affecting the peripheral nervous system.It is frequently severe and usually exhibits as an ascending paralysis noted by weakness in the legs that spreads to the upper limbs and the face along with complete loss of deep tendon reflexes. With prompt treatment by plasmapheresis or intravenous immunoglobulins and supportive care, the majority of patients will regain full functional capacity. However, death may occur if severe pulmonary complications and autonomic nervous system problems are present.
Plastic Tree x PEACE NOW
On August 13th Plastic Tree will be holding their Nippon Budokan Performance “Tent2” and to celebrate the event, there will be a limited collaboration campaign with SHINJUKU MARUI ONE’s PEACE NOW as “PEACE NOW Tent 2”. Plastic Tree for Nippon Budokan Performance
Plastic Tree, also known as PuraTori or Pura, was formed in 1993.
The most easily recognizable signature of Plastic Tree’s music is the melodic, child-like voice of Arimura. Their sound is also aided by Arimura’s abstract lyrics. All three band members collaborate to write songs and lyrics.
Plastic Tree’s current sound ranges from hardcore rock to pop.
On August 13th, Plastic Tree will be playing their “Tent 2” live at the Nippon Budokan for the third time and they have now announced their public seeking of a poster design. Read the rest of this entry »
