X Japan to perform at Asia Girls Explosion in Tokyo
X Japan is going to perform at the Asia Girls Explosion fashion event at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium on March 6.
It is said that their appearance will naturally include the song “Jade,” which is being released as their first U.S. single on March 15, as well as the first public performance of “Scarlet Love Song,” which is being used as the theme for the animated movie “Tezuka Osamu no Buddha -Akai Sabaku yo! Utsukushiku-“.
The band also plans to make a surprise announcement regarding their upcoming world tour. Previous reports have said that the tour should start with a South American leg this spring, covering Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, and Chile.
X Japan leader Yoshiki already revealed earlier this month that he will be participating in the Asia Girls Explosion event on the fashion side, collaborating with Tokyo Girls Collection producer Jay FR to introduce the special “YOSHIKIMONO” brand.
Asia Girls Explosion, which will focus on music as well, will feature a large cast of international models and present the so called “real clothes” fashion brands from outside Japan.
For the fashion show, several international guest models have been announced, including AnnaLynne McCord, Olivia Palermo, and Marilyn Manson.
Osamu Tezuka’s Buddha manga will be made available digitally for free
Buddha manga is drawn by Osamu Tezuka (手塚治虫)and is Tezuka’s unique interpretation of the life of Gautama Buddha, the founder of Buddhism. The critically-acclaimed series is often referred to as a gritty, even sexual, portrayal of the Buddha’s life.
To celebrate the upcoming release of the animated film “Tezuka Osamu no Buddha: Akai Sabaku yo! Utsukushiku,” it has been announced that part of the original manga by Osamu Tezuka will be made available digitally for free for a limited time.
“Akai Sabaku yo! Utsukushiku” is the first film in a trilogy based on Tezuka’s “Buddha.” The portion of the manga adapted for the movie will be made available for smartphones and PCs through the “Weekly Tezuka Osamu Magazine” application, serialized over a span of 21 weeks. Out of the 21 chapters, which comprise a total of 744 pages, only 16 will come out before the film opens in theaters on May 28.
The iPad edition began distribution on January 27, while the PC version and the smartphone version will start on February 8. It is not clear whether the manga will be accessible outside Japan.
Buddha manga received the 2004, 2005 Eisner Award. As of early 2006, each volume had sold an average of 8,500 copies, with Kapilavastu having sold 20,000 copies.

The official website of Tezuka Productions has announced that the website for the anime film version of Osamu Tezuka’s Buddha manga has launched. As announced last year, the Tezuka Osamu no Buddha -Akai Sabaku yo! Utsukushiku- film will adapt Tezuka’s recounting of the life of the young prince Siddhartha, the founder of Buddhism.
Yasuomi Ishifuji is directing the film off a screenplay by Reiko Yoshida. Hideaki Maniwa is designing the characters and Toei Animation producing the project in association with Tezuka Productions.
Additionally, Rock band X Japan is providing the theme song for “Buddha.” The song, titled “Scarlet Love Song,” is a ballad written by band leader Yoshiki. It will begin playing in theaters on December 23 when the movie’s trailer premieres.
“Tezuka Osamu no Buddha -Akai Sabaku yo! Utsukushiku-” is planned to be the first film in a trilogy based on “Buddha.” Directed by Kozo Morishita, the movie features a voice cast that includes Sayuri Yoshinaga, Masato Sakai, Junko Takeuchi, and Hidetaka Yoshioka.
“Scarlet Love Song” will reportedly be included on X Japan’s album planned for release next spring.
Warner Brothers will release the film in Japan on May 28, 2011.

This year, 2010 marks the special Buddhist memorial service year of the legendary guitarist “hide” of X-JAPAN who passed away in 1998, and in this very year “Pinky Promise”, the official book of “hide”, are going to be published (at the price of 8,000 yen with tax included)

Hakuho’s wedding ceremony in Meiji Shrine
Hakuho (白鵬)and his bride Sayoko (紗代子) leave Meiji Shrine (明治神宮) after their wedding ceremony on Feb.21.
Hakuho (born March 11, 1985)is a Yokozuna (横綱), the highest rank in sumo wrestling, from Ulan Bator, Mongolia. In February, 2007, Hakuho married a 22 year-old university student in Tokyo after a three-year relationship. The couple welcomed a daughter in May, 2007, and a son in September, 2008.
